The Deep Time Walk—A History of the Living Earth
We are one. One Earth, one Humanity, one Spirit. The Deep Time Walk unfolds a scientific understanding of the 4.6 billion-year evolution of life on Earth. As we walk along the trail, each meter represents one million years of evolution. We will walk for 4.6 kilometers (3.2 miles) from the birth of Earth and the solar system to the present day. Every 100 million years I will describe the state of Earth and life at that point in time. My hope is that this walk evokes a profound shift in worldview. A shift from seeing Earth as a dead rock, used as our pantry, lumber yard, and waste dump, to a self-regulating living Earth—a precious environment from which all life has emerged.
